Welcome!
I welcome you to my online portfolio. My portfolio of work includes documents produced as an EFL teacher living overseas, and as an Instructional Designer and Education Technologist in San Diego.

Speakeasy was the name I chose for the language school I opened for adults in Taichung City, Taiwan. After returning to California, I began studying Instructional Design in the EdTech Masters program at San Diego State University.
I work part time in the Instructional Media Lab run by the College of Education at SDSU, while doing consulting work implementing technology into training environments. In my first year doing independent consulting, I've worked with:
- The San Diego County Office of Education creating original illustrations for Assessment tests.
- Mission Federal Credit Union working as an intern designing games to incorporate into their existing New Hire training.
- The Language Acquisition Resource Center at SDSU asked me to present the content management software program, Moodle, at their Digital Media Archive Workshop.
- The San Diego Maritime Museum designing and developing a DVD-rom museum exhibit featuring Emigrant Travel Journals from the Star of India.
- Dr. Bernie Dodge implementing "Wiki" into his graduate level course on Learning through Games and Simulations. I have started several other Wiki communities including my own EdTech Bliki, which is a blog-styled Wiki.
- Project I2J as a member of a team researching the effectiveness of teaching Science and Social Studies using Court TV in the classroom.
- SDSU College of Nursing designed and developed a website for the Institute of Nursing Research.
- Construction Safety Simulation worked as an instructional designer with a team of programmers to create a simulation in StarLogo that teaches Construction Safety.
