Easy Spelling

The Easy Spelling book was put together as a complete package for everything teachers would need for their spelling routines. Each book included the spelling lists for the semester along with practice pages for the students to do their writing and listening exercises, and then space for the test so that parents could monitor practice and success easily.

The words were all carefully selected to increase the student's phonemic awareness. Even the lines students use to practice writing on were redesigned. I chose this alternative sample writing line, with the additional line for letters like g,j,p,q. and y that extend below the main writing line.

Listening Exercises

The Easy Spelling book gave students to the opportunity to practice their listening skills during exercises where the instructor read sample sounds and some exercises where the student produce the sounds themselves in groupwork with other students. Easy Spelling was well received because it worked spelling, writing skills, pronunciation, and listening exercises.

The pictures have been scanned from a copy of one of the books in the series. The school I was working for at the time owns the copyright to the series. I did the work selecting words and developing the templates.
