Right on CUE
Thurs. 7:45 AM –
I’m off to the Computer Using Educators conference for a few days. I’m going as an employee of San Diego State’s EDTEC program. My mission for the weekend is to get good soundbytes for a podcast series that promotes our department. One of my best friends works for the County Office, and the two of us are about to climb into his jeep and head off to Palm Springs.
I’m excited to spend the weekend meeting interesting people, and learning new things. Palm Springs makes it even nicer. Bernie’s booked rooms for us in a place called the Morongo Resort. Moron go. I love it.

They say there’s no use crying over spilt milk, but I assume that’s not for milk spilt down the laptop. As we were googling a few last minute directions to the hotel, and the convention center, I took a sip of coffee. Little did I realize that the coffee lid was not on tight enough. I felt coffee on my leg, and heard it hitting the laptop.
AHHH!
Luckily, though, the lid was pretty well closed so all that happened was a little puddle of coffee gathered on top of the laptop lid. I screamed out HELP to a laughing BJ. He gave me a t-shirt and all was well. I was reminded that it really could be worse, and promise I’ll back-up all my files again soon.

The Morongo Resort and Spa is also a casino. I didn’t realize how nice this place would be. I’ll have to put some pictures up later. We’re at the conference, now. Each of us registered, he with his county pass, and I with my vendors pass showing that I work for SDSU. Pretty funny. I’ve just unloaded the audio from my voice recorder and am ready to find good people to interview.
