My Face on MySpace

I’m teaching a summer school course for the EDTEC department at San Diego State.  The class centers on blogs and wikis.  I’ve been blogging since 2003, and consider myself pretty adept at both blogs and wikis, but there’s something I just don’t get.  WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL ABOUT MYSPACE?

I know MySpace is more of a social networking site than a blogging site, but there’s overlap, and it’s something I’d like to cover in my class.  So, for the next 30 days I’ll be trying to join the MySpace generation.  I have a page (one on myspace and another on facebook, actually) it looks just like it did the day I opened it.  In the next month, I’m going to try and customize the site, look for old friends, discover new music, and hop on the bandwagon.

I’ll make updates here to share what I learn about the two sites along the way.
